A moment of silence from the323........  

We here at the323 have given a ton of flack to the University of Miami this season. And while most of it is deserving, no University or football team deserves what happened to the Hurricanes yesterday when they lost Bryan Pata, a valued member of the University community and the football team. Pata was described by teammates and coaches as a genuinely great kid, and the "guidance counselor" for the football team. The University of Miami has long had a history of disciplinary and legal problems, and in light of that it seems especially unfair to have such a fine young man taken from them. Bryan Pata will be dearly missed by his family and friends, but also by the University and football team that really needed him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Pata family.
